ITINERARY
Day 1 - Departure
Today you will depart your USA city or or Country on an international flight to Cairo, Egypt Day 2 - Welcome to Cairo Welcome to Cairo, Egypt! Our local host will meet and greet and assist you at Cairo International Airport. You and the rest of the group will be escorted to our luxury hotel by way of an exclusive air-conditioned vehicle. Your local host and SAS host will assist you once you arrive to ensure a smooth check-in. Relax by the pool Day 3 - Pyramids and Cairo Sightseeing Following breakfast at the hotel, our local host will accompany you to Giza Plateau to visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, famous Sphinx, and Valley temple facing the great statue. After lunch at a local eatery, we’ll enjoy the Egyptian Museum and Treasure room for child King Tutankhamen. Our evening will begin with a visit to Coptic Cairo to see the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue. We’ll end the day in Islamic Cairo by exploring Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s oldest bazaar. Day 4 -Luxor & the Nile Cruise Tour This morning you will check out of your hotel room and take a flight to Luxor. In Luxor, we’ll board our 5-star luxury cruise on the Nile river. The first stop will be the Temple of Karnak built more than a thousand years ago by generations of Pharaohs. Lunch will be served on board followed by a visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Before returning, you’ll visit the two gigantic columns known as the Colossi of Memnon. In the evening, our cruise manager will host a cocktail reception with a selection of canapés preceding a gourmet dinner. Day 5 - The Dendera Temple This morning you will have breakfast on the Nile while cruising towards Qena. Upon arrival, you’ll explore the Ptolemaic Temple of the Goddess Hathor in Dendera. Hathor was considered the goddess of pleasure and love. Her temple consists of a massive stone roof, dark chambers, underground passages and towering columns inscribed with hieroglyphs. While sailing back to Luxor we will have lunch on board. Following lunch and upon arrival we will explore the East Bank of Luxor, home to the lovely Amun Temple dedicated to the God Amun. Later in the evening we will have dinner and enjoy a belly dancing and a whirling dervish show. Day 6 - Edfu and Kom Ombo After breakfast, we’ll journey to the Edfu Temple. An awe-inspiring temple dedicated to the God Horus and one of the best-preserved temples along the Nile. Lunch will be served on board whilst heading towards our next destination: Kom Ombo. Once we arrive, you’ll indulge in an interesting tour of the Temple of Kom Ombo. Famously known to house the two Gods Sobek: The Crocodile God of Fertility, and the Falcon God Haroeris: the good sister of Hathor. For more breathtaking sites, we’ll travel along the Nile to Aswan under the spectacular Aswan Bridge. The gateway to Nubia and Aswan City. We’ll see the wonderful sandstone rocks illuminating the ‘Tombs of the Nobles’ dating back to the Middle Kingdom. That evening we’ll dance under the stars at the Galabeya party on board our Luxury Cruise. Day 7 - Nubian Temple - Philae Temple Yet another exciting day awaits you where you'll be escorted by an expert Egyptologist Guide in Aswan. Our first stop is the famous Aswan High Dam. Built in the 1960’s, this dam provides much needed electricity and irrigation to the whole of Egypt. Next, we’ll cross by boat to Agilika Island. At Agilika we’ll see the Nubian Philae Temple which existed before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long towers with the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. We will also visit the granite quarries that provided the building material to Ancient Egypt. That afternoon, a delightful felucca ride will take us around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener's Botanical Gardens, and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Be sure to take in the sights and the waves. Tonight will be the night of our black tie farewell dinner cruise. Day 8 - Aswan Departure & Return to Cairo After a reflective breakfast you will disembark from our luxury cruise ship and transfer to the Aswan Airport for our return to Cairo. Once you’re checked into your luxury hotel, take the day as you please. Tonight will be our last evening in Cairo. We will end with our final farewell dinner. Day 9 -Departure You’ll be transported to Cairo International Airport for your final departure. We hope these memories will last you a lifetime. |
