ITINERARY
Day 1 - Departure (July 16)
Today you will depart your USA city or or Country on an international flight to Cairo, Egypt Day 2 - Welcome to Cairo Welcome to Cairo, Egypt! Our local host will meet and greet and assist you at Cairo International Airport. You and the rest of the group will be escorted to our luxury hotel by way of an exclusive air-conditioned vehicle. Your local host will assist you once you arrive to ensure a smooth check-in. Day 3 - Pyramids and Saqqara Sightseeing Following breakfast at the hotel, our local host will accompany you to Giza Plateau to visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, famous Sphinx, and Valley temple facing the great statue. After lunch at a local eatery, we will travel to Saqqara where pyramid building in Egypt first began. Day 4 - Luxor This morning you will check out of your hotel room and take a flight to Luxor. In Luxor, we’ll board your cruise on the Nile river. The first stop will be the Temple of Karnak built more than a thousand years ago by generations of Pharaohs. Lunch will be served on board followed by a visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Before returning, you’ll visit the two gigantic columns known as the Colossi of Memnon. In the evening, our cruise manager will host a cocktail reception with a selection of canapés preceding a gourmet dinner. Day 5 - Nile Cruise Tour & ASA Restoration Project Today you will embark your Nile cruise, then visit -ASA Restoration Project site (2-3 hour working site visit in South Asasif). Later today in the evening you will join the Lecture and Q&A with ASA Restoration Project Director, Egyptologist and Cultural Historian Tony Browder. Day 6 - The Dendera Temple This morning you will have breakfast on the Nile and visit the West Bank The Ramaseum , Hatsheput's Temple , Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens Day 7 - Edfu and Kom Ombo After breakfast, we’ll journey to the Edfu Temple. An awe-inspiring temple dedicated to the God Horus and one of the best-preserved temples along the Nile. Lunch will be served on board whilst heading towards our next destination: Kom Ombo. Once we arrive, you’ll indulge in an interesting tour of the Temple of Kom Ombo. Famously known to house the two Gods Sobek: The Crocodile God of Fertility, and the Falcon God Haroeris: the good sister of Hathor. For more breathtaking sites, we’ll travel along the Nile to Aswan under the spectacular Aswan Bridge. The gateway to Nubia and Aswan City. We’ll see the wonderful sandstone rocks illuminating the ‘Tombs of the Nobles’ dating back to the Middle Kingdom. Day 8 - Nubian Temple - Philae Temple Yet another exciting day awaits you where you'll be escorted by an expert Egyptologist Guide in Aswan. Our first stop is the famous Aswan High Dam. Built in the 1960’s, this dam provides much needed electricity and irrigation to the whole of Egypt. Next, we’ll cross by boat to Agilika Island. At Agilika we’ll see the Nubian Philae Temple which existed before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long towers with the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. We will also visit the granite quarries that provided the building material to Ancient Egypt. Day 9 - Aswan Community Service Project After a reflective breakfast you will disembark your Nile Cruise , then visit Nubian School Visit, Nile Swim, dinner, dancing, etc. You will spend the night in your Aswan hotel. Day 10 - Aswan Departure & Return to Cairo After breakfast you will transfer to the Aswan airport for your return to Cairo to visit the Egyptian Museum & Anwar Al Sadat Memorial ( Unknown Soldier Memorial ). We will end with our final farewell dinner. Day 11 -Departure (July 26) You’ll be transported to Cairo International Airport for your final departure. We hope these memories will last you a lifetime. |
